Audrey’s Taco Army | Newington, CT

Meet Audrey! A smart, bright, shining 8-year-old star who loves math (and tacos!). On May 9th, devastating news reached her and her family – she was diagnosed with DIPG: an incurable and rapidly growing brain tumor located at the brain stem. Radiation treatments and a trial this coming fall will hopefully give them a miracle, but in the meantime, their family hopes to spend as much time together as they can. So they’ve created Audrey’s Taco Army to help raise funds to fight this childhood cancer, and spend as much time together as possible completing her bucket list. One of their first desires was for professional photos, so we met locally to make that happen! It was an absolutely gorgeous late-spring evening. We met locally since Audrey now gets some car sickness if she travels too far. The Deming-Young Farm was a perfect location, and one of my favorites for evening sessions where the golden light peaks through just the right spots to wrap beautiful people in beautiful light. We had a great time exploring and getting to know each other and this family now truly holds a special place in my heart. We came up with an gorgeous collage of images from her session that they will now be able to hang on their walls at home and enjoy every time they walk by them. This family has a lot to endure in the coming months, but we believe with the right treatment and faith she will overcome this obstacle. Since both parents are on leave from work for treatments and want to go through Audrey’s bucket list, a fundraiser has been set up to help with this financial burden.
