Colorful Chevron Cake Smash | Middletown, CT
The beginning of this year has been all about the BOY cake smashes! For little Brandon’s session, we came up with a colorful chevron cake smash theme after his mother showed me the chevron outfit she had picked out just for the occasion! Apparently his nursery is decorated in blue chevron as well! This pattern can be tricky to decorate for as you don’t want TOO much of the pattern or it tends to clash and overpower the subject. Instead, we utilized a polka dot backdrop from Lemondrop and some new paper flowers to bring out the subtle lime green color in his birthday hat and with viewers this session has been a HUGE hit! I love color, especially with these cake smash sessions, and this combination is definitely one of my all time favorites! As always, we had an amazing cake by Betty’s Cake Creations! Brandon was a little indifferent to taking pictures at first, but after bringing out my “emergency” stash of wooden blocks, he was much happier to smile for the camera! Even his cake pictures came out adorable with the help of a trusty fork and some (coincidental) matching cups from home to help! See for yourself!
