Need a unique birthday photoshoot idea? Look no further than our increasingly popular confetti birthday photos! Perfect for ages 3 and up, these have quickly become a unique and popular idea for families that come back to me year after year for updated photos of their children and for those who have yet to have professional photos taken! There ARE ways to work with children after age 1, but they need something fun to do especially in a studio setting. Although using something like glitter with kids has been around for some time, the idea of using confetti (of certain style) in conjunction with balloon garland was introduced by us here at The Flash Lady Photography! For almost a year we’ve met with multiple kids and put together some beautiful images for their parents. And everything you see here is real! We do not used special editing techniques or overlays because I truly believe to get the best real smiles and reactions, you need to make a mess! 😉 Check out some of these images below. We decided with Sean to go with a more casual look and color scheme for those that are not looking for the fanciness of a gold or silver combination. I just love this blue, mocha, and white color combination came together! Sean had a blast making a mess and throwing balloons and confetti around the studio. He had the biggest smiles when Mom would throw confetti in his face when he least expected it! These would be perfect to put together a nice album, photo collage, or Legacy Box along with some favorite keepsake digital files! […] It has been wonderful getting to know this beautiful family as I have helped them capture a few very important milestones this year – their Maternity, Newborn, & now a confetti birthday photoshoot for big Brother Brayden! Utilizing my Annual Review Plan (with confetti shoot upgrade) is a great way to get multiple sessions done in one year. Some clients use this for a Newborn, Sit Up, & 1st birthday cake smash for their baby or others will choose to use them for different session types. Our last session together was an upgraded final photoshoot to our unique confetti & balloon session. This is a special offering to The Flash Lady Photography’s studio, and a great way for older toddlers and children to have fun, capture their birthday milestones (or just because!), and showcase their personalities. Now typically we have been doing this theme for ages 3+, which I still would recommend for children to be able to pick up the confetti and throw more on their own. But Brayden’s Mom knew with the balloons that he would have an absolute blast! So even at age 2, I was up for the challenge. And he did fine! At age 2, he wasn’t going to be able to pick up very much of the confetti or throw/blow it on his own. But with help from Mom & Grandma, we had such a fun photoshoot! And as you’ll see below, he probably would have stayed all day playing with us! We always like to take some “cleaner” portraits first before getting messy, and I am so glad that his family now will have a beautiful Signature Album of many of the favorites from his session. Although they will be moving from Connecticut soon, we loved our time together and hope that when they come to visit we will take some updated family photos and see how big the boys have grown!
