JoJos Toys Grand Opening | Newington, CT
Earlier this spring I happened to be followed on Instagram by JoJo’s Toys & More – a brand new toy store coming to Newington and hoping to open in May 2021! I was so excited! It’s not often that we’ve had a smaller, family run toy store in Newington since Toys R Us left the Berlin Turnpike. And even better to have a small business to join our Newington Chamber of Commerce. I quickly connected with the owners, Eliah & Priscilla Leffert, to welcome them to town and encourage them to join us for our upcoming Drive In Movie event through the Chamber. Not only did they join us, but they sponsored our balloon stomp for the kids too! It was a huge hit, and a great way to get their name out to some of the town prior to their opening. Afterwards, they asked if they could hire me to photograph JoJos Toys Grand Opening and their ribbon cutting a few days prior. I was honored to be asked, and both events were amazing! The Newington Chamber of Commerce was able to welcome their officially to town, and the toy store was able to welcome their new clients! There were raffles, giveaways, great inventory to choose from, an introduction to their craft room, Star Wars characters, ice cream from Capitol Ice Cream and cupcakes from The Kakery – both nearby businesses! Overall, it was wonderful to help welcome them to our town. My daughter was even the winner of one of their raffles! They had 2 great events, and I can’t wait to see what else we can team up on in the future!
